Meet Dr. Lindsay E. Janes 

Dr. Lindsay E. Janes is a fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Chicago, IL, with unique expertise in hand surgery, peripheral nerve repair, and extremity reconstruction. 

Dr. Janes helps patients regain mobility, strength, and independence after injury, trauma, chronic disease, or neurologic conditions affect the arms and hands. 

She earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Following that, she completed her plastic surgery residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and went on to complete a fellowship in hand and peripheral nerve surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where she gained advanced experience in brachial plexus repair and nerve transfer procedures. 

Currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the prestigious Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Janes is involved in clinical care, research, and surgical education. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally on topics including limb salvage, nerve reconstruction, and spasticity treatment. 

Dr. Janes takes the time to get to know her patients and learn about their daily lives. She wants to understand how patients use their hands and upper body in daily routines, including which activities matter most to them. This thoughtful approach enables her to forge meaningful bonds with patients as she collaborates with them to plan procedures that support their goals and enhance their quality of life.
